Description

Based on the science of neuromuscular physiology, the Bosu Home Balance Trainer uses familiar exercises—such as leg raises, lunges, abdominal crunches, push-ups and stretches—but forces you to move with control on an ever-changing surface. The Bosu Home is an inflated, thick rubber dome on a flat, 25" round platform—just like the version you use at the gym. It can be used with the platform side either up or down for different types of balance challenge. Two recessed handles on the bottom make it easy to carry. Perfect for sport-specific training, it literally keeps all the muscles in the body activated as it tones, offering a dynamic workout unlike any other. Includes a total body workout video with aerobic and strength training routines, stretching and flexibility exercises, and balance training. Also includes step pump for inflating and Fitness Quest Eating Plan. Not for commercial use. Warranty void if used commercially. 10Hx25" dia.

Awesome fitness tool February 24, 2004 Reviewer:  T. Bothwell "Teri" Real Name (Alexandria, VA)  See all my reviews >

The BOSU is one of the best fitness tools on the market, very versatile and challenging, and there's something for everybody. With lack of balance and core strength a factor in many injuries, this is a great way to train. I've been in the fitness industry for over 20 years and this is the best abdominal work I've ever tried!

Be aware of copycat BOSU March 12, 2008 Reviewer:  Coach "Gayle" (Arlington, VA)  See all my reviews >

I have 2 BOSUs. I LOVE them for what they can do in terms of exercise. Each BOSU I bought at Target, which was significantly cheaper than ordering them from a sports performance magazine. However, they are different from each other. They serve the same purpose, but one is far more durable than the other. And the less durable one has become mishapen. To be fair, they get a lot of use from a core and cardio perspective. I noticed in looking at the performance magazine that BOSU is trademarked and in all CAPS, so perhaps the second one I bought is a "copycat" and not as well made, hence the 4 star rating over the 5. BEWARE of the copycat and try to buy the original

Broke within the first week November 26, 2005 Reviewer:  Jill K (Grapevine, TX USA)  See all my reviews >

I am 4'11" tall and weigh approx. 100 pounds. I used this item for less than one week before the base actually separated from the inflatable cushion. There were even exposed nails! I had to return it for a refund. I do NOT recommend this piece of equipment to anyone.

Great for knees and ankles! November 22, 2006 Reviewer:  Gym Rat See all my reviews >

I killed my knees from years of going crazy in Step classes, cheerleading, and running. Recently I've been trying to get back in shape and couldn't even do lunges until I discovered this gem at the gym!! I do forward one-legged lunges with no pain and actually find it fun. I plan buying one for home use and to practice more balance and core exercises. I highly recommend it, especially for 30-something gym rats starting to have knee and ankle problems!

Endless Exercises May 22, 2007 Reviewer:  M. Steele Real Name (Chicago, IL)  See all my reviews >

My personal trainer has me doing countless exercises using this piece of equipment. I absolutely love it! --so much that I had to buy one for myself to use at home! At the very least, you can stand on it while you do free weight exercises and work your core muscles, without even realizing it! I highly recommend the Buso Trainer.

Came Apart! February 10, 2008 Reviewer:  Molly M (Minnesota)  See all my reviews >

While pumping up the BOSU for the very first time, the ball came apart from the base. The ball was not overflated--it came apart at approximately 5 inches. Very disappointed and returned it.

Fantastic for Back problems April 15, 2007 Reviewer:  Mike W (New Jersey)  See all my reviews >

I use the BOSU every day for a partially herniated disc problem. All I can say is that I am free from back pain and do the activities I want to do without problems. I also stand on the BOSU to lift free weights and it improves the workout 100%.

Great for training at home February 15, 2007 Reviewer:  R. Hurst Real Name (Knoxville, TN)  See all my reviews >

This is one of those items that you see at your gym and are probably intimidated to try. I attend weekly fitness classes that started incorporating the bosu ball and I soon fell in love with the range of activities you can do and how hard my whole body was having to work on it. During a class with 5 or 6 different exercise stations, the bosu was the most challening for me but also the most fun. I have a small home gym and usually jog on a treadmill while watching TV or movies, but the treadmill is loud and can make focus difficult. The bosu ball was my solution and I use it for both cardio and strength exercices. It takes some getting used to but I think you'll find that this is a great little excercise tool, and fun too!

Love It December 20, 2008 Reviewer:  Shash (Minneapolis, Mn)  See all my reviews >

I've always exercised but wanted something small enough to pull into my family room to use while watching TV. This is just the thing. Great for core training, leg work, squats, sit ups etc.

I would highly recommend it.

Flip it over for a better workout! June 10, 2009 Reviewer:  Eli's Mama (Kentucky)  See all my reviews >

I love using it! I flip it over and balance on the platform doing squats and general upper body weight training. (I saw the contestants doing it on the biggest loser.) The first couple of times I used it this way my whole body was shaking! It really works your entire body!!
